Hand-Painted Prosthetic Lenses

Adventure in Colors creates individually hand-painted soft contact lenses designed to closely match the appearance of the fellow eye and address specialized prosthetic and therapeutic needs.

A Highly Individualized Process

Each hand-painted prosthetic lens is created individually. The process is designed to produce a lens that closely resembles the patient's fellow eye in color, pattern, and overall appearance. Because every patient's eye is unique, each lens is approached as a custom project.

The eye-care professional works with Adventure in Colors to provide the necessary patient information, photographs, and lens parameters. A sample or trial lens may be created and refined through an iterative approval process before the final lens is produced.

Available Customization

  • Iris color and pattern matching
  • Pupil size and appearance

How the Process Works

01

Professional Submission

The eye-care professional submits the required patient and lens information using the ordering form.

02

Photography

Good eye photographs of the fellow eye are important for accurate color and pattern matching.

03

Sample Creation

A hand-painted sample or trial lens may be created and modified through an approval process.

04

Final Lens

The final lens is created from the approved reference once the sample is confirmed.

Photography Is Important

Good photographs of the fellow eye are an important part of the color-matching process. Clear, well-lit images help ensure the hand-painted lens closely matches the patient's natural eye appearance.
